Onwards to the next phase

The group draw for the second phase of Intel Challenge: SuperCup #8 was initially supposed to be done at the recent ASUS event, but was slightly delayed. It has now been announced to take place live tomorrow.

Four new groups with four teams each will be formed. They will all feature two teams from the first seed column, and two teams from the second seed. The First seed teams managed to win their group, while the others quite naturally came second. Like the previous groupstage, the upcoming one will be played in a best-of-2 format. The top two teams in each group, will make it through to the playoffs.

Two teams from the same group originally can not end up in the same group after the draw. For instance, GGnet and Virus who were both in group A will not play together in the new group.

Update: The groups have now been drawn by v1lat as could be seen live on prodota.tv, with Group A looking especially tough on paper. The games will kick off as soon as possible.
