MPL ID successfully broke the 100 million watch hour barrier for the second time in a row with Season 13.
MPL Indonesia successfully repeated its achievements from the previous season in watch hours. The highest league of MLBB in Indonesia broke the 100 million watch hours barrier for the second time in a row for the 13th edition. This record matched Season 12’s when MPL also achieved the same achievement.
This milestone highlighted that only MPL Indonesia achieved the back-to-back 100 million watch hours for a regional mobile esports tournament. Back in Season 1, the tournament garnered over five hundred thousand viewers. Six years later, it became one of the most significant esports leagues in the world.
Azwin Nugraha, PR and communication manager of Moonton Indonesia, stated: “We are so grateful that esports fans’ enthusiasm in Indonesia is astronomically high. We presented this achievement to the esports community, especially MLBB and MPL Indonesia.”
The feat of repeating what they achieved last season was a labour of love from the publisher, athletes, fans, and the entire esports industry. This was further bolstered by the fact that MPL Indonesia’s competition level was at an all-time high, where almost anyone could beat anyone in the league.
This season,
Fnatic ONIC (then ONIC Esports) continued its domination in MPL Indonesia after securing a quattrick by defeating EVOS Glory in the grand final of Season 13. The newly acquired team by Fnatic showed that even though they had a slightly rougher season, they were still the champions of Indonesia.
MPL Indonesia will continue its Season 14 and has already decided on a playoff location. Bandung, a bustling city in Java, will host the playoff of this exciting tournament to determine who will qualify for the M6 World Championship.
Moving forward, with an already established fanbase, can MPL Indonesia repeat its achievement in the following Season 14?
