Although the Mobile Legends Professional League’s thirteenth season in the Philippines still has a few more days until completion, today we saw the upper bracket final between Falcons AP.Bren and Liquid Echo. After an amazing series, which went the full five games, the first team that will represent the PH region at the upcoming Mid Season Cup 2024 has been decided.

Champions fighting

When two teams that have been world champions meet, there is nothing more to expect than an absolutely amazing series of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. That is exactly what both Falcons AP.Bren and Liquid ECHO gave us today. With a spot in the grand finals on the line, as well as a spot at MSC 2024, both teams entered the Land of Dawn, ready to bring out their best. With a swift first-game victory, FCAP looked primed to run away with the series – but that was definitely not the case.

With picks such as Roger and Lapu-Lapu in the following two games, TLPH turned the tides, taking themselves to match point and leaving Bren to go back to the drawing board. Bren’s answer came in the form of Pheww’s Pharsa, which came in clutch when they needed it most, as they tied up the series and took us to a breath-taking game five. It was anyone’s game to play for in the final game, but FCAP seemed to have control – all the way up until a Lord dance began. This was when TLPH found their opening, and with a split-second decision, made the call to go for the end. The payout was tremendous, as they managed to secure the victory against all odds.

With the 3-2 scoreline, Liquid ECHO became the first grand finalist of MPL PH Season 13, getting a break now until Sunday, May 26. Alongside this, the team also qualify for MSC 2024, where they will be fighting against challengers from across the globe in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, at the Esports World Cup. For Falcons AP.Bren, all is far from over, as they now await their next challenger in the lower bracket finals, where they will have a chance to claim a rematch with TLPH.
