On the first day of the Mobile Legends Professional League’s twelfth season in Indonesia, we saw two series, with one showcasing the new team, Dewa United Esports. It was a day of full best-of-three series, with the four involved teams giving it their all – but unfortunately, two were met with the bitter taste of defeat.
While we saw a few heroes which we had not for some time, most of the picks remained fairly similar to those we saw in MSC 2023 and during Season 11. Pharsa, Beatrix, Fredrinn, and Franco all came up – while Paquito, Kaja, and Valentina arrived back in the Land of Dawn on more than a few occasions. Although only one day has passed, the teams seem to be quickly finding their niche builds, with even Beatrix being less picked than usual. On the ban side, Fanny and Yve are already making a statement as the top bans, with both also being on the winning team when they were picked.
DEWA and RBL come out on top
AURA Fire and Alter Ego were the two teams which were unable to find an early victory on the first day of Week 1, both struggling when it really came down to it. For AURA, their changes did give them a great showing at one point, but it was the newcomers who were able to survive the onslaught and come out on top – with Watt making a fantastic comeback to MPL play.
On the other side, after they secured a victory in their first game, AE struggled to close things out, as RBL proved that they were becoming a force to be reckoned with in the region. With Paquito being their main pick, the team ignored their initial loss and continued to shine, leaving AE to pick up the pieces of a first-day loss.
Day 2 is set to bring much more action, with Bigetron Alpha going up against Geek Fam ID and AURA needing to prove themselves against the Kings of Kings, RRQ. We will be closely observing the picks and strategies which these teams utilise as the weekend continues, especially with the Emblem changes being in full swing for the professional players.
