MPL ID Season 12: Week 1 of the Regular Season is about to kick off

MPL ID Season 12 kicks off shortly, and with a four-day weekend of action, there are plenty of series to take us through Week 1.

One of the most significant changes coming to the Mobile Legends Professional League in Indonesia for Season 12 is the addition of a ninth team, as Dewa United Esports make their debut in the event. With this also comes a change in the tournament format to cater to the additional team, as another day has been added to each week of play. Instead, of the eight weeks of play running from Friday through to Sunday each week, now we will begin action on Thursday for a total of four days of MPL ID action each week.

With that in mind, Week 1 is ready to kick off, and there are nine series for us to look at this weekend and have picked out three of the best for you to keep an eye on.

Thursday, July 13

AURA FIRE versus Dewa United Esports
Rebellion Zion versus Alter Ego Esports

For the opening day, we see two series, both of which could have big consequences for the teams involved. Having not seen DEWA playing together before, their series to open the new MPL ID season is one to watch. While AURA, roster changes could leave them high and dry after a terrible Season 11, they will be hoping to find their footing early this time around. On the same note, Watt’s return to MPL is sure to be met with many cheers, making this series a must-watch.

Friday, July 14

Bigetron Alpha vs Geek Fam ID
AURA FIRE vs Rex Regum Qeon

While it is a big day for all four teams playing on Friday, neither series stands out above the other. From a fan perspective, RRQ’s first foray into their new roster is set to be big, but they should have no problem against AURA. On the other side, BTR and GFID could potentially be the debut of Markyyyy, but it remains to be seen if he will be stuck as a benchwarmer in Season 12.

Saturday, July 15

Alter Ego Esports versus Bigetron Alpha
Dewa United Esports versus Rebellion Zion
Rex Regum Qeon versus ONIC Esports

Saturday’s action will see two big series, one to start the day and another to end things, with AE and BTR kicking things off. At this point, we would have already seen both teams in action over the past two days, which could give us a great view of how they plan to play their Season 12 journey. With VYN’s return to the Robots, the team could very well be looking to blast off right away.

RRQ’s Season 11 may have been less than spectacular, but with their roster changes, this team is certainly set for an epic comeback in Season 12. Fighting against ONIC is nothing new to RRQ, but the series which we have witnessed between the two in the past have always been amazing – which is why this series should be epic.

Sunday, July 16

Geek Fam ID versus ONIC Esports
Rebellion Zion versus Rex Regum Qeon

Sunday brings things down again to close out Week 1, with RBG and RRQ playing their third series of the weekend, while GFID try their luck against the MSC 2023 champions. In both series, things should be a walk in the park, but the fickle nature of MLBB can always swing things another way – especially with the Emblem changes now in play.

All-in-all, Week 1 at MPL ID Season 12 is set to be intense, as the team’s lineup with new faces, big roster changes, and possibly create a new meta too. Oddly, EVOS Legends has not been given a series during Week 1, so we will have to wait for Week 2 for that. We are extremely excited to see just what the next eight weeks bring, with the top two teams securing a spot at the M5 World Championships.
