Blacklist deliver the tournament killing blow to EVOS SG at M3

With the upper bracket finals out the way, it was time for more eliminations, as we made our way to a Blacklist International versus EVOS SG series.

M3 was quickly reaching its pinnacle as only four teams remained, but by the end of today, there would be only two – with Onic PH already taking one of those spots. Remaining were Blacklist International, EVOS SG, and BloodThirstyKings, all who would be fighting for the spot in the grand finals, hoping to claim the M3 World Championship crown for themselves. First up would be the champions of MPL PH taking on the champions of MPL SG.

The first game of the series was over in the blink of an eye, as EVOS decided to go for a rather odd draft, and Blacklist were more than happy to pummel it into the ground. By the eighth minute, the PH team had already secured a wipe out on their opponents, before taking the victory shortly after.

Game two was more of the same, as a relentless assault came out from Blacklist, dominating the home team at every turn. In a 14-minute game, EVOS only managed a single kill, as they were punished by OHEB’s Clint as well as Hadji’s Kagura, leaving the Singaporeans now staring elimination in the face at a 0-2 deficit.

With their backs now against the wall, EVOS finally seemed to find their footing in the series with game three, not being stomped in the early game. Utilising a Faramis pick, the hometown heroes kept themselves in contention, even when Blacklist were on the front foot, ripping through their team, EVOS were able to still keep their heads above water. Unfortunately, even with that, Blacklist were far too methodical in their plays, as they completed a clean 3-0 sweep.

Unfortunately for the Singaporeans of EVOS, their M3 World Championship lives come to an end, as they end in fourth place. For Blacklist International, they now have a rather daunting task awaiting them in the lower bracket finals, with a rematch against BTK.
