The Tigers overpower the Swordfish at M3

One more elimination series remained for day 7 of the M3 World Championship playoff stage as EVOS SG faced off against Todak.

EVOS SG were shocked yesterday, as were the entire MLBB community, as the North Americans of BloodThirstyKings caused another upset in the upper bracket, continuing their amazing run at M3. With their loss, EVOS would have to drop to the lower bracket, where Todak awaited them. For Todak, they could be seen as the reason for RRQ Hoshi’s demise, as they were the first team to make them bleed – and now they would be looking to move on in the lower bracket.

The first game of the series was amazing, as Todak picked up a Lunox for their Cikugais, and it worked out perfectly for them too. Although dropping a few kills in the early game, once the mid-game period arrived, Todak were unstoppable, with the Swordfish controlling the tempo perfectly and eventually taking an easy first game win. Game two saw Todak having control for most of the early game period, pushing the Tigers back at every turn and never allowing them to really gain any objectives.

However, in one swift fight, EVOS found their moment to turn the game around, destroying the Malaysian’s lineup and securing a tied series. Having taken a spectacular victory in game two, EVOS looked a new team as they went into the next game. Todak seemed to be in a mess, with players almost dying to jungle buffs and being unable to really deal with the EVOS lineup. It took only 13-minutes for the Tigers to take the win, moving to match point.

Game four was extremely close between these two juggernauts, as neither team wanted to give the other a win. With a Roger for Cikugais, TDK managed to stomp on the Tigers, taking an extremely quick victory. With one last game remaining to separate these two teams, both would be looking to avoid elimination and move on in the lower bracket of M3. Although they definitely seemed to have EVOS number in the previous game, TDK struggled to gain a foothold in the final game.

After being dominated by the Swordfish constantly for many years, EVOS finally managed to break the curse, taking a commanding fifth game victory, securing the series win and a spot in the next round, as they will need to take down Blacklist International to move on further.
