Team Flash had a fantastic 2023, but the M5 World Championship did not go their way, which prompted a few changes for the upcoming season.
Last year we witnessed
Team Flash really seemed to come into their own as a roster in the Mobile Legends Professional League Season 6 in Singapore. However, even after a solid victory in a magnificent grand final against
RSG Singapore, Flash’s high did not last very long, as the M5 World Championship saw them struggle to gel together. Now, as we move closer to the start of MPL SG Season 7, a few new additions have been confirmed to the roster – and we caught up with the Jaymark Aaron “Hadess” Lazaro and
Diablo shortly before they departed to the Games of the Future 2024 event to ask a few questions about their past, their present, and their future when it comes to Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
Season 6 of MPL SG was a huge win for you guys, but when it came to M5, it seemed as though there was a major disconnect after the first series. What went wrong?
Hadess: I think during M5 we still lacked a lot of confidence in each other and ourselves, so the results were not that great.
Following the defeat at M5, what did the team do to get themselves back on track for this year and Season 7?
H: After M5 we worked hard to find a solution to fix our problems so that we can make it back to the international stage and be more confident and ready to take on our challengers.
New lineups can often take some time to gel together well. How has it been so far playing together?
H: Right now, we have much better chemistry together, it seems. And I feel that we are playing very well.
More and more we are seeing teams obtain a mix of players from Indonesia and the Philippines joining forces. Was the choice to add a second PH player an easy one with KurTzy?
H: Finding our second import player was probably the hardest move for us because we really needed to figure out who would fit our team and playstyle perfectly.
On that note, what is the value of KurTzy’s experience, even though he did not get a chance to play with ECHO when they were victorious at M4?
H: The way in which KurTzy thinks and plays while playing MLBB is what makes him perfect for us. He has been in the Philippines region for such a long time and his experience is a priceless addition to the team.
Heading into Games of the Future, you have quite a tough group. Do you feel as though ONIC is your main challenger or are you looking towards the other teams as your obstacles?
Diablo: ONIC is definitely our main challenger and an obstacle that we need to overcome before we can face off against any other strong contenders. But we can never count out any other team in our group – so we will still play our best against everyone we meet.
Is the team using Games of the Future as a platform to test the new roster or are you confident enough to look for a victory?
D: I would not say that it is a platform for us to test out anything but since we are a new roster together, we have to start somewhere and determine our strengths and weaknesses. This competition is full of really strong teams, which gives us a great opportunity to how we will fare against them. I am extremely confident in this team and being able to win.
With those words, Team Flash headed off to Kezan for the GotF 2024 event, which is currently underway. Unfortunately, the team’s first hurdle saw them stumble hard against
ONIC Esports, before they managed to finally show a better side of things when it came to KeepBest Gaming. For now, Flash seems hopeful of making it all the way through the
KeepBest Gaming playoffs, but they will need to dig deep if they want to make it to the finals and set themselves up for a spectacular 2024.
