MPL ID Season 12: Week 4 and the midpoint struggles

MPL ID Season 12 will be reaching the midway point of the Regular Season this weekend, with Week 4 bringing us another step closer to the Playoffs.

So far, we have seen three weeks of action from the Mobile Legends Professional League’s twelfth season in Indonesia, with some pretty epic series too. From a few major upsets during Week 3, the teams are now set for Week 4, which will bring us to the halfway point of the Regular Season. Beginning on Thursday, August 10, all nine teams will be in action once more, as they hope to take a solid standing forward into the final four weeks.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at what’s going on in Week 4 of the MPL ID Season 12 Regular Season – and which could be the most interesting series of the weekend.

Thursday, August 10

Alter Ego Esports versus Dewa United Esports
AURA FIRE versus Geek Fam ID

Two things to break down for the opening day come from two teams – Alter Ego and Geek Fam ID. Both these teams were handed down some severe punishments via the MPL officials, with their analyst and coach, respectively, being on the receiving end of two-match bans. With their struggles already tenfold, both teams may face a difficult realisation this week.

Friday, August 11

Rebellion Zion versus EVOS Legends
Bigetron Alpha versus ONIC Esports

The Robots will definitely be looking to forget their shock defeat to AURA Fire last week, which they already could have done as they punished Rebellion Zion later in the same week. However, now they need to face off against their Snapdragon Pro Series rivals, ONIC Esports. If BTR can survive and take down the Porcupines, it could signal a new team being on the rise in ID.

Saturday, August 12

EVOS Legends versus Bigetron Alpha
Geek Fam ID versus Rebellion Zion
Rex Regum Qeon versus Alter Ego Esports

Another extremely shocking moment from Week 3 was RRQ taking their first loss – and even more surprisingly it came at the hands of GFID. One error was all it took for RRQ to let their perfect score slip away, but could easily keep their top spot this week.

The White Tigers and The Robots will give us our favoured series of the weekend, in a battle which should be amazing. Once these two teams fought for the MPL ID Season 7 title, and now they are both looking to push ONIC and RRQ out of their spots atop the region.

Sunday, August 13

Alter Ego Esports versus AURA FIRE
Dewa United Esports versus Rex Regum Qeon

Taking us into the halfway point on Sunday we will see a great battle at the bottom, as AURA and AE need to really pick up their pace to get through into the playoffs. While AURA did already show their masterful class with wins over BTR and ONIC in Week 3, they still could fall victim to the elimination zone with a few losses.

Week 4 of the MPL ID Regular Season is set to be a blast, as the teams seem to have finally found their stride and settled into their own compositions. Unfortunately for AE and GFID, this may not be their week to shine, but hopefully they bounce back – especially with four weeks remaining after this one.
