CTBC Flying Oyster sweep Team Secret Whales to claim the inaugural LCP championship

CTBC Flying Oyster completely dominated the LCP, winning the league's Season Kickoff, Mid Season, and now the Season Finals.

Taiwanese League of Legends (LoL) powerhouse CTBC Flying Oyster (CFO) have been crowned as champions of the inaugural LoL Championship Pacific (LCP) after they swept Team Secret Whales (TSW), 3-0, in the grand finals of the LCP 2025 Season Finals on Sunday (21 September).

With their victory, CFO claim the US$26,400 grand prize and complete a near-perfect season, having also won the LCP's Season Kickoff in February and the Mid Season in June. Throughout the entire LCP 2025 season, CFO notably lost just one match in the Group Stage of the Season Kickoff all the way back in January.

CFO will now look to carry the momentum from their dominance over their domestic league into the international stage, where they will lead the LCP contingent in the LoL World Championship in October. CFO will be joined by TSW and PSG Talon in representing the LCP in Worlds 2025 in China.

CFO sweep TSW to complete their dominance over the LCP

As the champions of the LCP Season Kickoff and Mid Season tournaments, CFO entered the LCP 2025 Season Finals as the biggest favourites. They were quick to assert their dominance, finishing the Group Stage as the first seed of the Contender Group with a 3-0 record. In the Group Seeding Bracket, they defeated MGN Vikings Esports and GAM Esports to earn the top seed in the Playoffs.

Meanwhile, CFO's eventual grand finals opponent in TSW had a more difficult path. TSW finished second in the Contender Group behind CFO, with GAM and PSG Talon rounding out the rest of the group. GAM then proved to be the bane of TSW in the Group Seeding Bracket, as TSW lost to GAM in both the Opening Match and the Decider Match to get forced to a Round 1 start in the Playoffs.

TSW swept DetonatioN FocusMe in the opening round of the Playoffs to meet CFO in Round 2, where the Taiwanese squad emerged victorious in three games to knock their opponents down to the lower bracket. CFO then routed PSG Talon, 4-1, in the upper bracket finals to become the first team in the grand finals.

TSW would go on a fiery run in the lower bracket to force a rematch with CFO in the championship round by defeating Vikings Esports, GAM, and PSG Talon.

While the previous meeting between CFO and TSW in Round 2 of the Playoffs went the distance, the Taiwanese powerhouse looked nigh unstoppable in their clash for the LCP trophy.

Game one saw CFO take their opening win of the series in 31 minutes with a 18-9 kill lead behind Chiu “Doggo” Tzu-Chuan's Corki and Chun-chia “Junjia” Yu's Karsa. Doggo led the way with eight kills and six assists on two deaths while Junjia added five kills and 10 assists against three deaths.

CFO then took another 31-minute win in a bloodbath of a game two to take a commanding 2-0 series lead. Junjia shined once again, this time on Qiyana, and racked up 12 kills and 11 assists on three deaths to pace his team's 29-16 kill lead. Doggo on Sivir and Tsai “hongQ” Ming-hong on Ryze also added six kills apiece and a combined 26 assists.

Despite TSW's best efforts to mount a comeback in game three, CFO simply could not be denied as they completed the 3-0 series sweep in 34 minutes to secure the inaugural LCP championship. HongQ notably took home the Finals MVP award for his clutch plays in the grand finals against an up-and-coming TSW squad.
