Meanwhile, T1 and G2 Esports will face off against each other for third place.
The 2025 League of Legends Esports World Cup is coming to a close, with two teams surviving from the semifinals clash on Saturday (19 July).
The two teams that remain standing are
Gen.G, who defeated
G2 Esports 2-1, and
Anyone's Legend, who exacted revenge against
T1for their lower bracket finals loss at the 2025 Mid-Season Invitational.
Both Gen.G and Anyone’s Legend were direct seeds into the playoffs, where the South Korean powerhouse cruised through the Quarterfinals with a clean 2-0 sweep against
FlyQuest, and the Chinese juggernauts defeating
Hanwha Life Esports 2-1.
Here’s how the matches went:
Gen.G took down G2 Esports 2-1

The South Korean powerhouse made quick work of the first game, completely dominating the map and keeping G2 from making any significant wins. After a short 25-minute brawl, Gen.G destroyed G2’s base to win the first game to make a statement win.
However, G2 were not to be looked down on, as they bounced back in the second game, keeping up to speed with their South Korean opponents, and finding wins in plenty of team fights, especially with a fed Xayah on Steven “hans sama” Liv. In the late game, Gen.G tried to take on G2 in a team fight but Hans Sama’s damage, and the follow up from the team was too much for Gen.G to handle. After a 33-minute bloodbath, G2 marched down Gen.G’s Nexus to win the second game and extend the series.
Once again, Gen.G took control in the midgame of the third game, making it difficult for the bottom lane to make an impact. But G2 would not back down, finding some wins in their side of the jungle after a collapse by Gen.G.
A fight for Atakhan once again gave Gen.G more control over the game as they continued to run away with the gold lead. While G2 tried to defend and extend the game, the siege by Gen.G eventually chipped down G2’s base. After a 33-minute showdown, Gen.G took down G2’s base to win the third game, and the series 2-1.
Anyone’s Legend sweep T1 2-0

Anyone’s Legend were looking for revenge against T1 for their loss at MSI 2025, and at EWC, the Chinese powerhouse got it.
The first game was an absolute stomp by the Chinese team, winning in every team and the sidelanes. It felt like AL was breezing through the entire map, with T1 barely finding coordinated team fights throughout. And in just 28 minutes and a 22-3 kill lead, with a 14,000 gold lead, AL took down T1’s Nexus to win the first game.
The story was the same for the second game, with T1 only taking a few wins in the team fights, and making safe calls across the map. In the late game, T1 tried to fight back, and stopped the bleeding for a while, but an uncoordinated team fight in the river was punished by AL, crushing any hope for the South Korean team to make another comeback. And after a 32-minute game, AL took down T1’s Nexus to win the second game, and the series 2-0.
With their win, Gen.G and Anyone’s Legend will face each other at the Grand Finals on 20 July.
Meanwhile, T1 and G2 will face off one final time to determine who comes in third in the competition.
