New League of Legends ADC Yunara arrives in Patch 25.14

The wait is almost over with Yunara finally arriving on the Summoner's Rift in Patch 25.14.

We’ve been waiting for the newest League of Legends (LoL) champion for quite some time, and now the wait is finally over. Yunara the Unbroken Faith arrives in Patch 25.14, which is expected to hit live servers around 16 July.

Yunara was first teased back in April during the launch of Season 2, which highlighted Ionia and the Spirit Blossom Festival. Early leaks and teasers hinted at her role as a new bot lane AD Carry, which has since been confirmed.

Max Perlamn, Lead Gameplay Designer for Yunara, shared the design approach behind her kit. One of the main goals was to create a marksman that felt more traditional. While many recent ADCs lean heavily into spellcasting, like Smolder or Kai’Sa, or introduce unique mechanics that demand a very different playstyle, such as Zeri, Samira, Nilah, or Aphelios, Yunara is built for players who enjoy the classic feel of the role. She focuses on spacing, orb walking, positioning, and consistent damage output, but with a slightly updated twist to keep things fresh.

Yunara’s story: A forgotten protector returns

During the Darkin War, Yunara served as the Fist of Shadow for the Kinkou Order. To contain the power of the Darkin Glaive, she sealed both herself and the weapon within the Spirit Realm, sacrificing everything in the process. For centuries, she remained hidden, until the Wyldbloom surged across Ionia and brought both her and the shrine she was bound to back into the Mortal Realm.

Now, awakened in a world she barely recognises, Yunara carries knowledge and techniques that have long been forgotten.

Yunara’s abilities in League of Legends

Yunara thrives as a traditional AD Carry who rewards clean positioning, spacing, and consistent auto attack uptime.

Passive – Vow to the First Lands

Yunara’s critical strikes deal bonus magic damage, giving her a slight hybrid element in her auto attacks.

Q – Cultivation of Spirit

Each basic attack generates a stack of Unleash, with extra stacks gained when hitting champions or landing a critical strike. Once fully stacked, activating Q grants bonus attack speed, additional on-hit damage, and causes her attacks to deal splash damage in a small area.
This ability activates automatically while Yunara is Transcended.

W – Arc of Judgment / Arc of Ruin

In her base form, Yunara sends out a swirling prayer bead that damages and slows enemies as it travels. When it reaches its endpoint, it briefly expands and continues to damage anyone caught within.
When Transcended, this becomes a beam of spirit magic that travels in a straight line, dealing damage and applying a slow to enemies in its path.

Yunara shines in extended fights where she can build up Unleash stacks, activate her Q for bonus damage, and use her Transcended form to pressure teamfights with empowered abilities

E – Kanmei’s Steps / Untouchable Shadows

Yunara gains a quick burst of movement speed, which she can use to reposition, dodge enemy abilities, or chase down fleeing opponents.
While Transcended, the ability transforms into a dash.

R – Transcend One’s Self

Yunara unlocks her full potential, entering a transcendent state for several seconds. During this time, all of her basic abilities are enhanced, giving her powerful temporary upgrades that can turn the tide of a fight.
