The Assassin’s Creed franchise’s leadership team is getting refreshed.
Ubisoft has announced an all-new leadership team for the Assassin’s Creed franchise, led by its recently-launched subsidiary Vantage Studios. The iconic historical open-world game franchise is moving forward with a team led by veteran Ubisoft producer Martin Schelling, among others.
Vantage Studio’s new leadership team was established following the recent departure of Assassin’s Creed head Marc-Alexis Côté, who left Ubisoft in October 2025.
New leadership team for Assassin’s Creed announced at Vantage Studios
It looks like the Assassin’s Creed franchise is getting some new creative direction. Ubisoft announced this week that Vantage Studios, its subsidiary which now heads development of Assassin’s Creed titles, had formed a new leadership team for the series:
- Martin Schelling–Head of AC Brand
- Jean Guesdon–Head of Content
- François De Billy–Head of Production Excellence
Schelling is a long-time employee at Ubisoft, who has worked as producer and senior producer on games like Assassin’s Creed Origins, Revelations, and Black Flag. Guesdon also worked as creative director on Black Flag and Origins, and has been with the franchise since Assassin’s Creed II. François is said to have contributed to multiple titles in the franchise, and recently served as production director on Origins and Valhalla.
The new team will lead the Assassin’s Creed franchise at Vantage Studios, a “creative house” formed by Ubisoft in 2025 to lead development on its biggest franchises. These franchises are Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six.
Vantage Studios’ formation came right before a time of great change for Ubisoft. The company announced major internal restructuring and the cancellation of six game projects last month (January 2026). These cancelled projects included a remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.
