Fnatic introduces 2 new players to its starting roster for the LEC Spring Split

Fnatic is making some bold moves for the LEC Spring Split.

It hasn't been the start to the 2023 season that Fnatic would have hoped for and just three months in, is one of the first few teams to go through roster shuffles before the start of the LEC Spring Split. This comes after former substitute AD carry, Elias "Upset" Lipp made the switch from Fnatic to Team Vitality.

Fnatic has added two new additions to the starting roster with the likes of toplaner Óscar "Oscarinin" Muñoz Jiménez and support player Henk "Advienne" Reijenga. From the Fnatic TQ squad, both players will be taking over from the likes of Martin "Wunder" Nordahl Hansen and Ruben "Rhuckz" Barbosa.

Being only 19 years of age, this will be Oscarinin's full-fledged professional debut in the LEC. As for Advienne, he will be hoping his second stint in the LEC will fair much better than his first with Excel Esports. Advienne also brings experience from the LVP Superliga, which he also spent some time with last season.

Aside from introducing its two academy players into the fold, Fnatic has also introduced a new head coach, Czech coach Tomáš ‘Nightshare’ Kněžínek. Having previously worked in the LCS with the Immortals, Nightshare will bring plenty of experience and knowledge to the table while also having some prior work experience with Fnatic's midlaner, Marek "Humanoid" Brázda.

In the official announcement on Fnatic's website, it also stated that it has thoroughly examined the inner teams' structure, leadership, and cohesion to analyze what went wrong. They have also gone on to state that the team was not ready for the winter split, citing a lack of preparation as well as having pre-established routines, which brought about increased pressure on stage.

There is still a long way to go for Fnatic to reach the very highest of highs in the LEC. With the squad still firmly in transition, their LEC Spring Split journey will be a long and arduous one. Fnatic will kickstart its spring split campaign with its opening match against Excel Esports, which was the only other team to not make it through the winter split.
