31st SEA Games: Team Singapore claims yet another bronze after defeating Malaysia once more

Team Singapore defeated Malaysia 3-1 in the bronze medal match for League of Legends.

The battle of the Causeway has happened once more in the bronze medal match at the 31st SEA Games, this time in League of Legends where Team Singapore took the medal form under Team Malaysia's noses. The 3-1 victory also meant that it was the second time in the SEA Games that Singapore eliminated Malaysia in the bronze medal match with the first occurring in the Wild Rift category.

In all fairness, Team Malaysia did start the series well with a clinical performance in game one to get themselves going. It was an even match for the most of game one but Malaysia managed to keep up with Singapore's aggression and responded in kind when necessary. Both teams were constantly at war with one another on the Summoner's Rift, taking turns in coming out on top but it was Malaysia who had the last laugh at the end of game one.

Malaysia has had to settle for a sole bronze medal at the 31st SEA Games for esports so far.

But in the next three games, Singapore showed just why they are no pushovers. With game one going to almost 40 minutes with both teams not willing to give an edge away, the second game was a blowout for Singapore as they started the match on the front foot. Map movements, rotations, and awareness were part of the game plan for Singapore, which was able to take out Malaysia whenever the chance came along.

The same can be said about both games three and four as Team Malaysia was not able to replicate their game one performances. This isn't down to the team's inconsistency as Singapore had turned up the tempo from the second match onwards, not allowing Team Malaysia to play to their own pace and taking them out of their comfort zone.

With a 3-1 series win, Singapore claims yet another bronze medal for the nation while also sticking it to their neighbours across the Causeway who are still stuck with a sole bronze medal in the esports category for the 31st SEA Games.
