The G-League in SEA HoN Tour goes into the most important stage with the playoff standings shaping up and the demotion struggle reaching the pinnacle of excitement. While all that is going on, the D1 has found it's eight playoff teams that will compete for the four open spots in the coveted G-League in September.
D1 might not have the glamor of the big G-League, but this season plenty of well-known teams had to compete in it in order to get called to the majors. That goal is now very well in reach for eight teams that made it through the bracket of their respective region and are now just a couple of games away from getting the promotion into the esteemed G-League.
From Thailand the top dogs of Made in Thailand.Sorry Sorry made it through, after they blew the direct qualification in the Thai tournament earlier this month. The detour through D1 started with a revenge match against NoCondom.Shooter eSports, over Kimochi.Tt eSports and qmp all the way to the Grand Finals against KaiD. The win over one of the other elite Thai teams in KaiD not only makes a clear statement that the qualifier result was only an accident, but it also guarantees the DreamHack Summer 2013 participant one of the top seeds in the playoffs.
Joining them from Thailand is KaiD with the second seed, Punischer Heaven on the third seed and last but not least 6ixty9 as the last seed from the Thai region. They will have to compete against the four teams from the SEA region in a Double Elimination bracket, with the first four teams getting the ticket to the promise land of G-League.
Those four SEA teams are iMpunity.Earth, Sawadeekap Gaming, Dasreich.Corps Fabulous and Team Troublemaker. Pretty much all of those teams are unknown entities at this point, only iMpunity.Earth has earned their stripes in the SEA market before. They team is one of the most prolific teams the region has to offer with accolades like the most recent DreamHack Summer 2013 participation as the representative for the proud SEA region. Still they also faltered in the Qualifier as one of the favorites to go to the G-League - similar to KaiD and MiTH - and now have to prove themselves.
The way these playoffs are working is, that the first SEA seed will play the last Thai seed and so forth. That means, that MiTH is going to face Team Troublemaker, KaiD will take on Sawadeekap Gaming, Dasreich.Corps Fabulous will square off against Punischer Heaven and iMpunity.Earth will challenge 6ixty9. The winner of those matches will move to the Upper Bracket Semifinals and is only one victory away from the G-League slot.
