Lt. Morales: A look at what the Medivac will bring to the Nexus

The Medivac Dropship is about to drop Lt. Morales into the Nexus. While she is not yet playable, Blizzard has released her abilities and other info.

It's about that time again, time for another Hero release very soon. In the months since the official release, Blizzard has very diligently been adding new Heroes to the game every few weeks. Some of these Heroes get added to the game independently, while others arrive along with major reworks of other elements in the game. It seems that the upcoming Lt. Morales, a medic from StarCraft, will arrive along with major changes to a majority of Heroes. These changes will be available to the public in a Public Test Realm that will go online today, and these changes will be implemented in the main game not too long after.

Blizzard released the following video that showcases Lt. Morales' abilities today:

Her Q is a Healing Beam, which will keep healing an ally that you have targeted for as long as you do not switch to another target. This ability has no cooldown, and is casted instantly for use flexibility and value in team fights.

Her W, Safeguard, is Hardened Shield lite. When used on an ally, damage done to that ally is reduced by 25% for a few seconds. A very cool graphic accompanies the targeted player so that he knows when the effect is lost.

Her E ability is called Displacement Grenade, which performs as advertised. This ability gives the Medic some power in disrupting the opponent and in disengaging from losing positions. This ability might become very good CC through talent choices.

Her trait is called Caduceus Reactor, and is similar to Muradin's Second Wind in that it will allow the medic to get back up in Health quickly by not being involved in combat for a short period of time.

Lt. Morales has no healing Heroics. Instead she has a single target Bloodlust-like ability that is called Stim Drone. When used on a target ally, that player will enjoy increased attack speed and movement speed for a few seconds. This ability does not seem to be countered in any way, neither by stunning the medic or by destroying the drone that applies the boosts.
Her other ability is the famous Medivac Dropship. This ability is the first of his kind, but can be best compared to Falstad's Flight. In the above video, it is shown how the Lt. can transport herself and at least 2 allies from one location on the map to another in a swift fashion.

Earlier on Blizzard also released a video showcasing the medic's, and other heroes', new skins. This video can be found here.
