Hearthlytics sign Americas' underdog Nias ahead of Blizzcon

Victor “Nias” Shelstad joins the Hearthlytics gang mere hours before his first match at the Blizzcon World Championship.

Nias became one of the biggest surprises of the Americas’ Road to Blizzcon. The unknown player made first splashes by beating the Last Call Qualifier and then proceeding to eliminate known local contenders in the Top 40 phase, including ProtoHype, JustSaiyan, Fibonacci and Muzzy. During that phase, he got known as a stellar anti-Patron player, reading the meta perfectly and preparing a solid line-up that would get him to the championship.

During the Americas Championship in San Francisco, Nias became the embodiment of the Cinderella story, exiting his group with a top seed above Hotform, VLps and MoleGel. His only loss was eventually dealt by the to-be champion Ryan “Purple” Root after a close five-game series.

According to a recent interview given to GosuGamers – to be published later today – team offers were not late to follow. For some time now, Nias has been bootcamping with North American team Hearthlytics in preparation for Blizzcon and their union has been now officially contracted.

By signing Nias, Hearthlytics are now tied with Team Celestial and G2 for the team with most representatives at Blizzcon, as Hunter expert Justin “JAB” Black will compete in Group A alongside ThijsNL, NoTomorrow and Kno. Both of the Hearthlytics players will step on the Blizzcon stage for the first time tomorrow as JAB meets Kno and Nias faces China’s Zoro.
