The first DreamHack Bucharest results are in, as some favorites crash out early

The ousting of players like Faramir, Dtwo and Orange are among the first big upsets of DreamHack Bucharest.

The PGL Tavern Tales tournament is well underway over at DreamHack Bucharest. Today, the 32 group stage players will be reduced to just eight. And we know just who won’t be making it to the main stage tomorrow.

Arguably the biggest surprise so far is the elimination of Jon “Orange” Westberg. Despite being one of the most talented prospects of this year, the young Swede has been struggling to find consistency in his tournament appearances. For each of his two championships there’s a round one elimination “balancing” it out and his dropping out of DreamHack Bucharest comes just one week after he did the same at Gfinity Spring II.

It wasn’t a good day for Jan “Faramir” Engelmann and Daniel “Dtwo” Ikuta. The Trig team-mates were among the players to watch towards the end of 2014 but haven’t had the best 2015 so far.

Still, this doesn’t mean that the players who advanced over them were lesser names. With the exception of Romania’s Bekooze, Poland’s Eroth and Denmark’s Chacruna, everyone else has a decent televised history in Hearthstone. Names include the likes of Logan, Stanislav Cifka, Maverick and Tom60229.

Groups E-H are up next with players including Lothar, Powder, Xixo, Skip, Alesh, Numberguy and more.
