The coveted NESL Preseason cup came to an end in it's 29th installment with American Unjust winning. This gives the player some cash in his pocket and the grand opportunity to become NESL King of the Hill this Tuesday.
The NESL Preseason cup is not only a nice way to test your strength against some of the elite players in Hearthstone, but it can also be a springboard to plenty of fame. A nice cash prize for a couple of hours of player are awaiting, as well as the encore performance in Tuesday's King of the Hill contest. This edition American Unjust get's the opportunity to challenge an invited player and possibly the reigning king Realz.
To get this chance, Unjust had to beat plenty of players including the #2 seed in the tournament zRusher and DKMR's own Hosty in the Grand Finals. The Canadian himself had to overcome fellow countryman Kisstafer in the Semis to even get to the big dance - a dance he couldn't win after all. For Unjust it's the second NESL Cup win after his title back in the 12th edition, for Hosty it's another sad last game, hauling in his third runner-up position - this time even back-to-back on Sundays.
Still, getting to the finals is more than some of the other notable names in the competition can say. As usual the American elite and well-known players from Europe tried their luck - with limited success. DKMR's Varranis failed to record a win after his bye in Round 1, top seed Luffy lost in the second round, Danish Priest player DuckWingFace left the field after a Round 3 loss, while Chakki got eliminated in Round 4. Other players like Dart, hyped, Alchemixt, Semijew, Strunk, Wampie and Ignite couldn't make much more happen either, leaving the competition earlier than hoped.
