DKMR's Alchemixt remains the reigning king of IHearthU's KOTH as he snatched his third victory in a row against Managrind's Darkwonyx. Alchemixt is now tied with Realz in terms of wins and is one short of reaching Savjz' record of four in a row.
Having defeated Razor and Kitkatz in the past two IHU King of the Hills, Alchemixt entered the sixteenth edition of the show as the heavy favorite, even though Darkwonyx of team Managrind was chosen as his opponent. A lot was on the line for the DKMR player as winning here would put him in the exclusive club of 3+ wins kings, at the time consisting only of DogeHouse's Savjz and LV's Razor.
Packing a more or less standard Warlock Zoo allowed Alchemixt to go up by a pair against Darkwonyx's Druid and Shaman. The momentum of Gul'Dan was however stalled by an unusual pick from Darkwonyx - a control Priest rich on board clear, point removal and the obligatory Cabal Shadow Priest.
The Priest finally retired Alchemixt's Zoo but its reign was ended by a aggro Hunter utilizing the Hunter's Mark/Elven Archer combo but that deck, too, stayed for just two games as Darkwonyx's last deck - a control Warrior featuring Battle Rage, double Yeti and no Sylvanas or Geddon - managed to outlast him.
The Warrior of the Swede was equally successful against the Watcher Druid of Alchemixt as well and the series entered its seventh and final game - a warrior control mirror.
That game went equal for the most part until the late turns started to go really bad for Darkwonyx. Alchemixt cast his Alexstrasza first, halving Darkwonyx's life total. With no targeted removal in hand, the MG Swede had to put his hopes into a lucky Brawl but RNG was not with him that day. As the Brawl left Alexstasza alive, it was lights out for the challenger.
