There were 57 players who began Day 7 with high hopes, but it was Ukrainian Anton Makiievskyi who came out on top of the day when he won the largest pot of the tournament, over 20 million, against Chris Moore in the last level of the day to surge into the chip lead.
After a flop of K♠ J♣ J♥, they got it all in. Moore had A♥ J♦ for trip jacks, but Makievskyi turned over K♦ J♠ for a flopped full house.
As for those less fortunate on the day, David Bach, the 2009 WSOP $50,000 HORSE Champion, who had three other deep cashes this WSOP (14th, 3rd, 2nd) busted in 45th place.
2008 WSOP Player of the Year Erick Lindgren, the most famous player still in the field at the start of Day 7, was eliminated in 43rd place.
Tony Hachem, brother of 2005 WSOP Main Event Champion Joe Hachem, was eliminated in 37th place.
John Esposito, the veteran player who had four previous deep runs in the Main Event but never reached the final table (11th, 12th, 19th, 26th), busted in 32nd place.
Steve Brecher, the last WPT winner still in the field, was eliminated in 31st place.
The last couple standing's male half, David "Doc Sands" Sands busted first in 29th and then was followed shortly after by his girlfriend and last woman in the Main Event, Erika Moutinho in 28th. They went home with a combined $485k.
JP Kelly went out in 27th and Andrew Hinrichsen was the last elimination of the night in 23rd taking home $302,005.
For those still contending, WSOP Player of the Year leader Ben Lamb is still going strong and looking to add to his 2011 bracelet and a second-place finish earlier in the series.
Young online pros Matt "hazards21" Giannetti and Phil Collins are also very much alive, as is 2011 WSOP Circuit National Champion Sam Barnhart, the National Championship bracelet winner.
Veteran professional player Bryan Devonshire was sporting full San Francisco Giants baseball gear to bring him luck on his run to the November 9.
