Rockstar Games’ highly-anticipated new GTA game will soon be available for pre-orders.
Grand Theft Auto fans have endured months of drought in the way of new information on the franchise’s next big entry, but that ends today. Rockstar Games has officially announced that pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI are set to begin as soon as next week, on 25 June, 2026.
The announcement came with the reveal of all-new cover art, which you can view below:

When do pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI begin?
Here’s this week’s big Grand Theft Auto VI-related news: pre-orders for the open-world sequel will go live on 25 June, 2026. While we do know that the game will only be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S at launch, and pre-orders for both platforms will open simultaneously, we do not know the actual price of the game just yet.
Similarly, Rockstar chose to avoid confirming if the game will be available for pre-order in multiple editions, or if a multiplayer mode will be available at launch. The only additional crumb the developer included in this announcement was some classic-looking artwork, showcasing some members of the game’s main cast. They include Jason, Lucia, Boobie Ike, and more.
What is Grand Theft Auto VI about?
In case you’ve forgotten, here is Rockstar’s description of GTA VI’s story:
“Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida–forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive.”
Jason and Lucia are the romantically-involved couple at the centre of its story. Jason lives in the Keys and works for local drug runners, but is looking to make a change. Lucia is fresh out of a stint in prison, and seeks to live a good life with Jason no matter the cost.
GTA VI will take players back to an iconic location from the franchise: Vice City. It will also feature locations like Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Cellhorn, Ambrosia, and Mount Kalaga National Park.
When is Grand Theft Auto VI coming out?
GTA VI will launch on 19 November, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles.
