More battleforce boxes have arrived to steal your money.
Following up on the upcoming release of Warhammer 40,000 11th edition and Armageddon launch box, Games Workshop has now unveiled four new battleforce boxes coming to the miniature wargame. These boxes will allow you to add new army projects to your ranks, or just add reinforcements to your existing armies.
Here’s a breakdown of all the new battleforce boxes coming to Warhammer 40,000:
What's new in the Warhammer 40,000 battleforce boxes?
Four new battleforce boxes were revealed this week, all of which are set to be available for pre-order soon. They provide a bit of value for those looking to pick up new army projects without the means to buy the contents of each box separately, as the boxes contain a diverse selection of thematically-connected miniatures. However, Games Workshop has not confirmed the new boxes’ pricing details just yet.
Here’s what you can expect in each box:
Astra Militarum Platoon

First up is the Astra Militarum Platoon, which focuses on artillery, armour, and infantry. This is a combined arms battleforce with representation for all three of the aforementioned pillars of the Astra Militarum, containing 10 Cadian Shock Troops, two Field Ordnance batteries, a Basilisk, and a powerful Rogal Dorn battle tank.
These units are led by a Cadian Command Squad and a Commissar. The box also comes with five transfer sheets for some additional final touches to your units.
Tyranid Swarm

The Tyranid Swarm is well-represented in this battleforce box, which encourages players to ravage a vulnerable galaxy in order to consume as much biomass as they can. This collection of workhorse units include a Lictor and three Von Ryan’s Leapers, 10 Hormagaunts, and 10 Termagants to form the bulk of your forces.
Three elite Tyranid Warriors led by a Hive Tyrant (who can alternatively be built as the Swarmlord or a Hive Tyrant with Wings) will lead the swarm, and are included in the box.
Chaos Space Marines Warband

The Chaos Space Marines Warband includes several members of the heretic army, looking to take the fight to the Corpse-Emperor. These units include 20 Chaos Cultists and 10 Legionaries, who can alternatively be run as two squads of 10 Cultists and five Legionaries respectively.
They will be led by a Lord Discordant, two Obliterators, and a Venomcrawler.
Necron Host

Finally, we have the Necron Host box. Driven forward by the will of a Catacomb Command Barge, these units include a Canoptek Doomstalker, three Ophydian Destroyers, and five Flayed Ones, while 20 soulless Necron Warriors and six skittering Scarab Swarms spread to make the battlefield yours.
