The Pokémon Company International has just unveiled something exciting for its TCG fans: the Pokémon Trading Card Game: 30th Celebration, a commemorative expansion marking 30 years of the Pokémon TCG. Announced on the official Pokémon website on Monday evening (1 June), the set introduces the new Futuristic rare card rarity, brings back 30 classic cards from across the game's history, and will become the first Pokémon TCG expansion to launch simultaneously across participating markets worldwide when it arrives on 16 September 2026. What is included in Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration?
The Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration will feature an all-foil card lineup and the return of classic cards from throughout the game's history.
The set also introduces a new card rarity called Futuristic rare. Illustrated by Japanese artist YOSHIROTTEN, the cards feature Pokémon in vibrant artwork described as being evocative of hope toward an unknown future.

Which classic cards are returning in Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration?
The expansion includes 30 classic Pokémon cards from across the trading card game's decades-long history.
Each returning card will feature a foil treatment. According to the announcement, these classic cards “will not be legal for play in the Standard format but are eligible in formats that allow the original prints of these cards.”
Each Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration booster pack will contain five foil cards, one foil Basic Energy card, and one Pokémon TCG Live code card.
When does Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration release?
The Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration expansion launches on 16 September 2026 at participating retailers worldwide.
It is the first Pokémon TCG expansion to receive a simultaneously coordinated global launch across participating markets. The Pokémon Company noted that while the expansion will release on the same date around the world, exact launch times may vary between countries and regions.
