A new challenger has arrived.
One of anime's “strongest creatures on earth” is coming to Tekken 8. Bandai Namco has revealed Yujiro Hanma from the Baki the Grappler manga series as a new downloadable content (DLC) character for Tekken 8 Season 3, with the fighter set to arrive in early 2027.
The announcement arrived alongside a teaser trailer released on Bandai Namco Entertainment’s official YouTube channel on 25 May, giving fighting game fans a first look at how “The Ogre” will enter the Tekken 8 roster. Yujiro Hanma will join other characters Kunimitsu, Bob, and Roger Jr., as part of Tekken 8 Season Pass 3.
Who is Yujiro Hanma?
Yujiro Hanma is the main antagonist of Keisuke Itagaki’s manga series, Baki the Grappler series. He is widely known in the series as “The Ogre” and “The Strongest Creature on Earth.”
In the manga, Yujiro Hanma is a highly paid freelance mercenary and assassin who works for governments and organisations. He possesses overwhelming natural strength and mastery over multiple martial arts styles from birth. Within the series, his power allows him to carry out extreme and bizarre acts without consequence. He is also widely known as the biological father of protagonist Baki Hanma.
How was Yujiro portrayed in Tekken 8?
Bandai Namco’s teaser focused heavily on Yujiro’s physical power and signature appearance from the original series. The short trailer placed particular attention on his back muscles, referred to as the “Demon Back,” alongside the immense force generated from them. The reveal follows several previous guest character additions to the Tekken franchise. Since Tekken 7, the series has included characters such as Akuma, Negan, Geese Howard, Noctis, and Clive.
What does the Tekken 8 Season 3 Pass include?
The Tekken 8 Season 3 Pass is now on sale, offering access to four characters, including Kunimitsu, Bob, Roger Jr., and Yujiro Hanma.
Players who purchase Season Pass 3 will also be able to unlock the SUBSEA LOCKDOWN Stage, as well as gain access to 120 hours of DLC Early Access and an exclusive Season 3 Aurora Outfit costume.
When is Yujiro Hanma coming out?
Bandai Namco confirmed that Yujiro Hanma will join Tekken 8 as a playable character in early 2027. Further updates will be shared closer to the release window.
