Battlefield 6 Season 3 gameplay trailer shows off remake of Battlefield 4's Golmud map, new weapons

Battlefield 4’s Golmud Railway map is back.

Electronic Arts has dropped a new gameplay trailer for Battlefield 6 Season 3, featuring the season’s big content drops: a map that remakes Battlefield 5’s Golmud Railway, a competitive queue for REDSEC, all-new weapons, and more. Season 3 will launch next week, on 12 May, 2026.

What is in Battlefield 6 Season 3?

Electronic Arts and developer Battlefield Studios are set to release Battlefield 6 Season 3 next week, on 12 May, 2026. The seasonal content update will launch 12 weeks after the debut of Season 2, which infamously took 16 weeks to arrive after Season 1. Thankfully, players will be in for a shorter wait this time around.

Season 3 is also packed with new content for players to dig into, including a return to a fan favourite Battlefield 4 map: Golmud Railway. Battlefield 6 is remaking the map as Railway to Golmud, which is now set to be the game’s biggest map yet–hopefully assuaging criticisms of the game’s too-small maps.

This new map is joined by Cairo Bazaar, which also happens to be a remake of Battlefield 3’s Grand Bazaar map. Don’t expect both maps to look the exact same as their original forms, however, as they have been redesigned and altered to fit Battlefield 6’s setting. A new game mode called Obliteration will also be available.

A couple new weapons are also coming in Season 3, including:

  • L115 Sniper Rifle
  • M16A4 Assault Rifle
  • RPK-74M LMG
  • PP-19 SMG

Additionally, Battlefield 6’s free-to-play battle royale counterpart REDSEC is getting a ranked queue matchmaking system, allowing for more competitive play in the mode. Battlefield 6 Season 3 will launch on 12 May, 2026.
