Roblox RIVALS Season 3 adds new weapons, maps, cosmetics, and widespread QoL changes

Two new weapons, three new maps, and more to explore!

Roblox’s RIVALS, currently the most popular first-person shooter game on the platform, is currently swarmed with hundreds and thousands of players after the game's content-packed Season 3 launched.

Released on 24 April, “The Fame Season” introduced new maps, weapons, cosmetics, and more, alongside widespread balance adjustments and quality-of-life improvements. The list of new content is a pretty long one-so we have helped summarise the highlights of Season 3 below!

New weapons and maps

The most exciting addition to RIVALS is perhaps the introduction of two distinct weapons–the Grapple and the Spear–both featuring their own skins and weapon contracts.

Roblox's RIVALS Season 3 adds the Grapple and Spear in its weapon lineup

The Grapple allows you to pull yourself towards a targeted location or drag enemies towards you, similar to a hook mechanic. This weapon comes with a variety of skins to unlock, including a Lasso and Chibi look.

Meanwhile, the Spear joins the roster as the longest-reaching melee weapon, enabling you to strike enemies from a distance with a three-hit combo. You can also throw the Spear and pin it to a wall, using it as a utility to launch yourself upwards over obstacles. However, once thrown, the Spear cannot be used again until retrieved. The update also introduced Spear skins, including Giant Pencil and Chibi variants.

Both weapons are currently only obtainable through the Season Pass.

Players will also get to access not one, not two, but three brand new maps: Westown, Museum, and Studio–all showcased in the RIVALS Season 3 trailer.

The Westown map drops you into a desert setting filled with themed buildings you can enter, allowing for stealthy movement and quick flanks through breakable windows.

Studio, meanwhile, is an outdoor environment featuring filming tents, parked cars, and a greenscreen setup. It is much more open, which would enforce upfront battles.

Lastly, Museum places you inside an art exhibition, with plenty of juke points as it is packed with tight corridors, beams, and hidden corners.

New cosmetics and bundles

A new “Prop Bundle” has been released, featuring nine exclusive weapon skins that can only be obtained by purchasing this bundle, currently priced at 824 Robux (approximately US$10).

Roblox's RIVALS Prop Bundle offers nine exclusive cosmetics

In the bundle, you can find the “Fire Extinguisher” Flamethrower, “Toaster” Dagger, “Street Sign” Battle Axe, and “Pencil Knife” skins. Players can also obtain a “Box TV” charm, a “TV Error” wrap, a “Goofy Brawl” finisher, and a “Scoot” emote.

Additional cosmetics are available in the in-game Shop, including:

  • Emotes: Giant Camera, Horsey, Bad Feeling, Hollywoodin’, Bad Boy, and Old Timer
  • Limited-time wraps: Lucid Halftone and Shadow Halftone
  • Exclusive Mythical Keyblade skin for the Gunblade (via the Legendary Key Bundle)
  • Exclusive Mythical Keyshot skin for the Slingshot (via the Ultra Key Bundle)

Ranked system changes

RIVALS also underwent several changes to its ranked system, now with stricter requirements to compete. Players must be at Level 100 in the game and have a real-world verification on their Roblox account to join the competitive mode. Ranked also now offers brand new Contract rewards including a free universal charm, wrap, finisher, emote, skin and more.

More premium rewards are available through the discounted 599 Robux (approximately US$7.50) Prime Bundle, as well as the 999 Robux (approximately US$12.50) Contraband Bundle.
