Roblox’s Doom by Fate faces scrutiny for lacking warnings on its photosensitive visuals despite community complaints.
A player has allegedly died after suffering an epileptic seizure linked to the Roblox game Doom by Fate, which features intense flashing lights without adequate warnings–despite ongoing complaints from the community.
It is important to note that there is no confirmed evidence that the individual, known as Kit, died as a direct result of playing the game. There is also no confirmation of Kit's real name, their Roblox username, or any other information that could confirm if Kit is a real person at all.
However, the story has spread like wildfire on the internet, as users continue to demand justice for Kit. Much of the discourse includes screenshots of troubling responses from “nyz”–allegedly one of the game’s developers–who appeared to downplay both the incident and calls to address the game’s lack of trigger warnings.

What happened to Roblox user Kit?
These claims are primarily supported by screenshots of Discord messages compiled into a Google document, apparrently by community members. However, the original source of the document has not been verified.
A Discord user “DRAKOBLOXXER” claimed that his friend Kit suffered a seizure while playing Doom by Fate. He followed up with a message stating, “She died in the emergency surgery,” which quickly spread across the community.
Follow-up messages with another user showed DRAKOBLOXXER claiming that Kit, who was 20 years old, died from Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) and had been taken into emergency surgery, in an attempt to open her airways due to suffocation.
Additional screenshots from the Google Doc suggest that multiple players had previously raised concerns about the game’s visual effects.
One user wrote:
“I’m epileptic–when I first saw Doom by Fate I almost had a seizure. Please add something to tone this down. I’m thankfully okay, but this should NOT go unnoticed.”
Regardless of the validity of the claims surrounding Kit, it is clear that the game contains potentially hazardous visual effects, which were implemented without sufficient warnings. Many remain sceptical of these claims, but the Doom by Fate developers’ negligence has continued to fuel the controversy.
Community shocked to how Doom by Fate developer responds
Backlash over these claims has been directed at how Doom by Fate's developers have responded to the situation. Developer nyz was widely criticised for dismissive remarks, reportedly referring to the victim as a “random” and suggesting that warnings were unnecessary due to the game’s relatively small player base.
“Don’t play games if you’re sensitive,” he said in one of the screenshotted messages, while another message read, “Y’all genuinely this mad over some random?"
Another widely-shared image–though its origin remains unclear–appears to show the developer making disrespectful jokes to the player’s alleged death, sparking further outrage. However, this image's authenticity has also been disputed in a follow-up developer response via KreekCraft, who denies the person in the screnshot was ever a part of their development team.
One of the Doom by Fate developers “ZoCarp” responded to the situation by departing the studio entirely, “I'm no longer working on Doom By Fate. My condolences for the guy who died, Rest in peace kit,” they posted.
DRAKOBLOXXER breaks down the full story
Several days after the story began gaining traction, YouTube streamer KreekCraft managed to contact DRAKOBLOXXER–the person who began the accusations–via a Discord call. During the conversation, he was asked to provide further details and concrete evidence to support his claims. However, inconsistencies in his account, along with his inability to present any verifiable proof, led many to dispute his accusations. The YouTuber also mentioned that there will be another part of this story as he prepares to release the responses from the developers themselves, which he describes as “an entirely different can of worms”.

Gameplay follows a typical killer-survivor format, where one player hunts while others complete objectives to escape. The issue lies in certain in-game effects, particularly added in a recent update titled “1x”, which includes a new killer with intense flashing lights effects during attacks, which may pose risks to players with photosensitive epilepsy.
