Diablo IV x Doom The Dark Ages crossover announced for 11 March

A Diablo 4 × Doom: The Dark Ages crossover will bring heaps of in-game cosmetics and rewards on 11 March.

The Diablo × Doom: The Dark Ages crossover was revealed during the recent Diablo Spotlight showcase. The collaboration arrives on 11 March, bringing Doom-themed cosmetics, free rewards, and various events to Diablo 4, coming  alongside the game's next live-service chapter, Season of Slaughter.

Unpacking the Diablo IV × Doom: The Dark Ages crossover

Diablo IV’s collaboration with the new first-person shooter game introduces several themed cosmetics to the in-game Shop, including the universal Doom Slayer armour skin, a Mecha Dragon Serrat mount skin–which can only be used with Diablo 4’s cat mount–as well as a Cacodemon pet.

On the launch date, Diablo 4 players will also be able to access the Doom: The Dark Ages Event Reliquary, which contains 10 rewards in total. Players can claim these rewards for free using the ‘Dark Ages’ currency, obtained by defeating Elite and Champion monsters.

Some of the Event Reliquary rewards include the Shield Saw cosmetic skin, Slayer’s Flail, and the Head of the Cyberdemon back trophy.

Players who successfully claim all ten rewards during the event will unlock the Forsaken Gates Town Portal.

In addition, defeating Lair Bosses throughout the crossover event has a chance to drop a special Doom Chest, which contains existing Unique weapons with a Doom-inspired makeover, making them resemble the Crucible blade from Doom Eternal.

The game will also distribute Dark Ages-inspired emblems for free in the days following the launch of Diablo 4 Season 12, with the release scheduled as follows:

  • 11 March, 12pm PT: Dark Before Dawn Emblem
  • 13 March, 12pm PT: Grandeur of the Gutted Emblem
  • 15 March, 12pm PT: Rip and Tear Emblem

A crossover as part of a larger update

The Doom collaboration is just one part of the larger update arriving in Diablo 4, as the game’s 12th season, titled Season of Slaughter, launches at the same time.

During the new season, players will be able to transform into The Butcher, while additional Unique items and a Killstreak power will also be introduced. Blizzard has also teased new content connected to the Lord of Hatred expansion. Read more about the upcoming Diablo IV season here.
