Early copies of Resident Evil Requiem surface ahead of launch

Brace yourselves for leaks.

For those counting down the days to Resident Evil Requiem, brace yourselves. Reports are emerging that early copies of the game are circulating ahead of its official release, meaning spoilers could start surfacing online well before 27 February.

Dusk Golem, a well-known Resident Evil insider were among the first to report this on social media, particularly on X (formerly Twitter).

“I can personally verify there is at least one person out there who bought Resident Evil Requiem from a store selling early,” they said. The post included a photo of a shrink-wrapped Deluxe Edition of the game.

The link appears broken at the time of writing. Dusk Golem’s confirmation has fuelled speculation across the community that more copies could be out there, despite the game not being officially available yet.

On Reddit, user scott1swann shared a photo reportedly from PLAION (formerly Koch Media), showing a physical copy of the game.

While it’s impossible to determine exactly how many early copies exist, chatter in forums and Discord servers indicates the news is spreading rapidly. Fans are already starting to anticipate potential leaks, which could include both genuine spoilers and doctored content.

Resident Evil Requiem spoilers may soon circulate

A handful of screenshots and text posts claiming to reveal Requiem’s story have already begun to appear online. With modern AI tools, it’s easier than ever for false images or fake spoilers to circulate, so distinguishing between real leaks and fabrications is tricky. That said, some early content is likely legitimate, making it wise for spoiler-conscious players to tread carefully. For those determined to experience the narrative unspoiled, it might be time to avoid social media feeds, skip fan discussions, and consider a temporary online blackout until launch.

Despite the leaks, Resident Evil Requiem remains officially scheduled for release on 27 February 2026. Capcom has positioned the game as a major return to the franchise’s roots, promising to resolve long-running storylines while featuring fan-favourite characters, including Leon S. Kennedy. With only a short window before the official release, the community is preparing for a delicate balancing act: enjoying early insights while avoiding major spoilers.

Whether these early copies represent a widespread issue or just isolated incidents, one thing is clear: fans eager to see Requiem’s story first-hand need to stay vigilant. The next two weeks could be chaotic for spoiler-sensitive players as the game edges closer to launch.
