Yakuza Kiwami 3 launches demo three weeks before release

Yakuza Kiwami 3 is a full remake of Yakuza 3, originally released in 2009 as the third entry in the long-running action-adventure franchise centered on the Japanese yakuza underworld. The remake retains the original storyline while introducing extensive modernisation–with improved gameplay mechanics, enhanced visuals, and deeper emotional and narrative depth.

SEGA will release Yakuza Kiwami 3 with a bundled standalone spin-off titled Dark Ties, which explores the journey of antagonist Yoshitaka Mine as he finds his way to the yakuza life.

Both Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties are scheduled to launch on PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch on 12 February 2026 with a US$59.90 price tag. However, players eager to experience the remade title early can dive into the demo now. Players who pre-order the game will also receive a bonus character, Legendary Lad: Ichiban Kasuga, to add to their gang.

Recently, SEGA has faced criticism from players and fans following its decision to delist Yakuza 3 Remastered and lock it behind a US$130 bundle. You can read more about the controversy here.
