GTA VI reportedly set for PC release in "Q1 2027"

GTA VI might get a PC release sooner than you think.

Rockstar Games is reportedly planning to launch Grand Theft Auto VI on PC, according to a GamesBeat piece that cites “sources familiar with the matter.” The game is currently only set for a console launch in November 2026, with no PC release officially confirmed yet.

According to the outlet, however, GTA VI will launch on PC sometime in “Q1 2027.”

Is GTA VI coming to PC?

If you're looking forward to playing Rockstar Games’ highly-anticipated open world sequel GTA VI, but don't have a console to play it on, you might still be in luck. A recent GamesBeat report released this week states that “Rockstar plans to release the PC version of GTA 6 in the first quarter of 2027, according to four industry sources familiar with the studio's plans, all of whom requested anonymity to avoid damaging business relationships.”

If the report is true, it would mean that GTA VI would only have a few months of console exclusivity before making its way to PC platforms. Rockstar has previously left that gap much wider before porting its games over to PCs, so this comes as a surprise. For example, GTA V’s PC version only launched two years after its console launch in 2013. The studio’s latest game, Red Dead Redemption 2, launched all the way back in 2018 on console platforms. It only later made its way to PC in 2019.

For its part, Rockstar has not confirmed the existence of a PC port for GTA VI, so it's best to take this report with a grain of salt for now. However, it should be noted that the report does line up with a statement that Twitch CEO Dan Clancy recently gave Bloomberg, where he confirmed that GTA VI Online would launch “next year.” It's possible, though entirely unconfirmed, that Rockstar is planning to launch both GTA VI and its multiplayer component on PC in 2027.

GTA VI will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on 19 November, 2026.
