Yakuza 3 Remastered to be delisted and locked behind US$130 complete series bundle

Players who own some of the games in the collection will not be able to buy the collection, either.

RGG Studio are under fire once again, after the company have confirmed that Yakuza 3 Remastered will be delisted from Steam when Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties launches next month

Once removed, the original version will no longer be sold on its own, and will instead only be available through the Yakuza Complete Series bundle, which includes the full Kiryu saga from Yakuza 0 to Yakuza 6: The Song of Life.

The studio addressed the change in a statement posted on X, stating that “for those new to the series who wish to experience the original version, it will be available with purchase of the ‘Yakuza Complete Series’ bundle,” while confirming that existing owners will still be able to play Yakuza 3 Remastered.

The Complete Series bundle is currently priced at US$129.13 USD. Before the delisting, Yakuza 3 Remastered was sold separately for US$19.99.

On top of that, as discovered by players like zizoplays1, the bundle system also limits access for existing owners. While RGG confirmed the game will remain available after Kiwami 3’s release, it is currently only offered through the Complete Kiryu Saga bundle.

As zizoplays1 pointed out, “on Steam, you can't buy the bundle if you already own one of the listed games”. Unlike other collections, such as Sonic Generations’ “Complete the Set” bundles, which let players purchase only the games they don’t own at a reduced price, the Yakuza Complete Series bundle is sold at a fixed price, and cannot be added to an account that already owns any of its games.

Until SEGA changes this system, players must either have a friend gift the bundle or use a temporary Steam account, which forfeits any Steam points earned, to access the content.

Players criticise US$130 bundle and Steam purchase restrictions

X user RageBladeX, who linked the bundle-only decision to long-running frustrations with the series’ direction. The post reads: “Like in Y0. You did not listen. 25th Annyversary. You did not listen. And now Y3. You did NOT listen. Done with that. I'll wait for Gang of dragons.”

Another reaction directly referenced RGG Studio’s wording around availability. Responding to the studio’s statement that the original version would be accessible through the Complete Series, X user @SamuraiSnaaake pointed out that the bundle “can’t be bought if you own anything in it,” adding criticism that accused the studio of having “no shame” and saying that RGG “don’t deserve” their reputation, closing by stating they are “no dragon.”

Some posts have also tied the pricing and access concerns to wider dissatisfaction surrounding Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties, including renewed discussion around the game’s casting of Teruyuki Kagawa, who was accused of sexual harassment by two women in 2019. One post circulating under the hashtag #REMOVEKAGAWA described keeping Yakuza 3 available only via a high-priced bundle as “the bare minimum.”

At the time of writing, RGG Studio have not announced any changes to the Steam delisting, bundle pricing, or the access limitations highlighted by players, with Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties still scheduled to release next month, on 12 February, 2026.
