Cardfight!! Vanguard celebrates its 15th anniversary by annoucing several new collaborations.
Trading card game Cardfight!! Vanguard is celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2026. In conjunction with the anniversary, Bushiroad announced its roadmap for the new year in a livestream held yesterday (12 January).
Alongside the announcement of a remastered broadcast of the original Cardfight!! Vanguard anime series, Bushiroad also announced a series of collaborations coming to the Cardfight!! Vanguard card game this year.
Tie-ins with Japanese video game franchises
The biggest announcement, and perhaps the most surprising of the bunch to boot, was the addition of popular video game franchise Yakuza in Set 13 (Japanese version), due for release on 10 April later this year. While details about the collaboration is scant, players should expect the likes of Kazuma Kiryu and Haruka Sawamura to be featured in the card game.

The other two collaborations announced were Inazuma Eleven, a sports role-playing video game franchise, as well as Bushiroad’s other own anime IP BanG Dream!. BanG Dream! will be released as a title booster premium set (Japanese version) on 27 March later this year, while the collaboration with Inazuma Eleven will be in the form of booster packs and trial decks, with more information to come later.

Cardfight!! Vanguard last had a collaboration with popular manga Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End recently, when Set 11 (Japanese version) was released in October 2025. These Frieren cards will also be making its way into English cards when Set 13 (English version) is released in May later this year.

Bushiroad is no stranger to collaborations, with its other trading card game Weiß Schwarz exclusively featuring characters from other entertainment franchises. However, this new surge in collaborations seemingly marks a change in direction for the future of Cardfight!! Vanguard.
It remains to be seen if the recently-announced collaborations will eventually make their way into English cards, but players will get a better idea of the card game's future when Bushiroad holds its Bushiroad English Conference Winter 2026 on 12pm (SGT), 6 February.
