South Park is officially coming to Fortnite later this week

Prepare for the Chaos.

After weeks of leaks and rumours, Epic Games has finally made it official, confirming Fortnite’s South Park crossover through a post on Fortnite’s official X (formerly Twitter) account:

The Fortnite x South Park collab launches on 9 January, 2026.

Epic wasted no time leaning into the madness of South Park. The official teaser, shared on social media, shows Butters sitting at a computer, alongside the date and a simple warning: “Chaos, loading…”.

For South Park fans, the reference is anything but subtle. Butters’ villain alter ego, Professor Chaos, immediately comes to mind, fuelling speculation that he could be a playable skin, or even a major in-game threat if earlier rumours hold up.

As expected, Epic hasn’t revealed much beyond the teaser itself. There’s no confirmed skin list yet, no official breakdown of gameplay changes, and no word on how deep this crossover will go. That said, previous leaks have pointed towards something more involved than a standard cosmetic drop.

Unlike Fortnite’s recent Simpsons mini-season, the South Park crossover is set to arrive mid-season, meaning that players shouldn’t expect a full map overhaul. Instead, this looks like a more traditional collab, with themed items in the shop and select additions to the map and loot pool.

That doesn’t mean this collab will be small. Earlier rumours suggested the presence of at least one boss on the island, along with a Rift Anomaly reportedly titled “Everyone Kills Kenny”, which would be painfully on-brand.

Epic is yet to confirm what the collab would entail aside from potential playable skins, but with the launch date now locked in, more details should surface soon through follow-up teasers.

Fortnite is available on consoles, PC, and select mobile devices. The Fortnite x South Park crossover begins on 9 January, and if the hints are anything to go by, it’s going to be chaotic in exactly the way fans expect.
