HoYoverse unveils title of all-new mystery game Varsapura on HoYoLab

What do you think will the new game really be about?

HoYoverse has revealed the name of its upcoming game, Varsapura, through a newly spotted page on HoYoLab. The developer behind Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero appears to be preparing for a formal announcement as early as tomorrow (21 November), following a wave of fan discoveries across its platforms.

Keen-eyed players first noticed that an official Varsapura account had quietly gone live on HoYoLab, HoYoverse’s main community platform and social app. Shortly after, another official account for the title appeared on China’s Bilibili platform, reinforcing the sense that something significant is on the way.

On Bilibili, fans pointed out that the account’s listed birthdate was 21 November, a detail which many interpret as a clue that HoYoverse could be planning to reveal the game this Friday (most likely in accordance with Beijing Time). While not confirmed, the timing has intensified speculation across the community.

Another important update is that the developer has also uploaded a profile icon for the account of a brown-haired girl with amber eyes and what appears to be a beret, though it is not depicted in the typical HoYoverse anime-style everyone is used to. What this means for the game and its world might only be revealed tomorrow.

What do we know about Varsapura so far?

Officially, information is still scarce. Beyond the creation of the HoYoLab and Bilibili pages, HoYoverse has yet to publish any teasers, trailers, or descriptions for the game. However, the company did file a trademark for “Varsapura” in July, signalling that groundwork for the project has been underway for several months.

The name itself may have Sanskrit origins, with a possible English translation of City of Rain. This has led to early speculation about the game’s themes, setting, or narrative backdrop. Fans are also connecting the name to a technical showcase HoYoverse released just a week ago, which highlighted an internal project built on Unreal Engine 5. That project was described as a “realistic fantasy” game, and some believe that Varsapura could be the title behind that demonstration.

With 21 November only a day away, players likely won’t need to wait much longer to learn whether Varsapura is indeed the next major HoYoverse release.
