Wizards of the Coast have revealed the cards in the highly-anticipated Monster Hunter Secret Lair Superdrop.
Wizards of the Coast has finally officially announced a new collaboration between Monster Hunter and Magic: the Gathering in the Secret Lair: Monster Hunter Superdrop, arriving on 1 December.
The reveal was made through a new announcement published on 19 November (SGT), confirming that players will be able to pick up four themed drops inspired by Capcom’s long-running action series. Overall, twenty reprinted cards from Magic: the Gathering's history will feature the creatures and characters of Monster Hunter.
The announcement follows a week of speculation, after the Secret Lair homepage quietly added a Monster Hunter-coded teaser. Wizards has now laid out full details, including card lists, bundle options, and the promo card offered with select purchases.
Four Drops inspired by hunters and iconic beasts
The Superdrop brings four mini-sets to the Secret Lair lineup: The Hunt, The Hunters, The Monsters, and The Monsters II. Each drop will be sold in English and Japanese, available in both foil and non-foil editions.
Prices for individual drops sit at US$29.99 USD for non-foil, and US$39.99 USD for foil. Surge foil editions get a ripple-style, colour-shifting treatment, and are exclusive to one bundle.
While all cards are reprints, the art reimagines well-known Magic staples through the lens of Monster Hunter. Highlights include:
- Tooth and Nail, returned with Monster Hunter-themed art and still one of the most explosive creature tutors in Commander.
- Mizzium Mortars (as The Rage of Yian Garuga), a spell that can scale into a full board wipe when Overloaded.
- Nezahal, Primal Tide (as Lagiacrus, Lord of the Seas), a strong control finisher with built-in card advantage.
- Kalamax, the Stormsire (as Brachydios, Brutish Indigo), a popular Commander pick known for copying Instants and growing in power.
Each drop includes five cards, with creatures and spells themed around hunters, Elder Dragons, and other familiar foes from Capcom’s universe.
Valstrax Sol Ring promo included with select bundles
Wizards also confirmed that certain bundles come with a special foil Sol Ring promo featuring Valstrax, described as streaking across the skies powered by its iconic “dragon energy.”
Depending on the bundle, fans can receive either an English promo, a Japanese promo, or both. The promo is limited, available only while supplies last. Bundles offering Sol Ring include:
- Master Rank Everything Bundle: includes one English and one Japanese promo
- Hunter’s Carve Everything Bundle (EN / JP): one promo in the bundle’s language
- Amped State Surge Foil Bundle (EN / JP): one promo in the bundle’s language
Orders over US$99 also qualify for free shipping, according to the announcement.
Bundle options for collectors
Three main bundles headline the Superdrop:
