PokéPark KANTO lands this February, and the world of Pokémon is about to get a whole lot more tangible.
Pokémon fans, mark your calendars, and maybe start limbering up for all the walking you’ll be doing! The Pokémon Company has officially announced that PokéPark KANTO will open its gates on 5 February, 2026 in Yomiuriland, Tokyo, giving trainers a real-world chance to explore a pocket-sized region of their own.
The Pokémon Company shared the news through a trailer on YouTube, as well as an announcement on the official website.
Spread across 26,000 square metres in the lush Tama Hills in Japan, the park promises a full-blown outdoor experience rather than a quick museum exhibit or short-term pop-up. Think less “limited event” and more “lifetime quest hub”.
According to the announcement, this is the first permanent outdoor Pokémon attraction, and it’s set to include themed areas such as Pokémon Forest, a Trainers’ Market, a Gym, and even a Battle Court.
Tickets go live in November
Tickets go live on 21 November 2025 at 6:00 PM JST / 5:00 PM SGT / 1:00 AM PST.
Two options will be made available: the Trainer’s Pass and Ace Trainer’s Pass. Both include admission to Yomiuriland, the amusement park PokéPark KANTO is built into. Prices and full booking details haven’t been revealed yet, but The Pokémon Company is directing fans to the official website for everything from schedules to costs. If this turns out anything like a first-day Nintendo Switch pre-order, expect queues longer than a Gyarados.
What to expect inside PokéPark KANTO
While the full details are still under wraps, the reveal trailer already gives a decent taste of what’s cooking. There’s a mix of interactive encounters, themed zones, and, judging by the sheer scale, plenty of photo ops waiting to flood social media. You probably won’t be catching a real Pikachu with a Poké Ball, but you’ll almost definitely take enough selfies to make Professor Oak start judging your camera roll. And who knows, maybe there’s a mini-game somewhere for anyone who still dreams of being a Trainer.
A “Gym” and “Battle Court” practically scream competitive activities or mini-games, while the Trainers’ Market sounds like the place to hunt for themed snacks and merch. With much of the theme park's attractions set outdoors, it feels more like a full-on theme park adventure than just a mascot meet-and-greet.
There's also a Pokémon Center, where Chansey awaits all-smiles to heal your party in the Healing Machine. Afterwards, visitors can pop by the Poké Mart to pick up some specialty drinks themed after the in-game shop of the same name. Sedge Town will house these buildings, along with the Gym, Pokémon parade, and more.
PokéPark KANTO lands this February, and the world of Pokémon is about to get a whole lot more tangible. Even from the trailer, it’s clear that fans have something new to get excited about, and the months ahead promise plenty of anticipation as more of the park is revealed.
