Pokémon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension DLC finally lets you break the Lvl. 100 cap, launches December

The Pokémon franchise is finally breaking its Level 100 cap.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A’s Mega Dimension DLC is ushering in some rather significant additions to the Pokémon franchise. This week, The Pokémon Company released a new trailer for the expansion, detailing its all-new story content and Mega Evolutions. The trailer also showed off a few Pokémon that exceeded the current Level 100 cap, suggesting that players might be able to grind their Pokémon up to Level 200 soon.

Pokémon Legends Z-A: Mega Dimension expansion DLC revealed

The Pokémon Company has finally unveiled the contents of Pokémon Legends: Z-A’s upcoming DLC expansion, Mega Dimension. The DLC takes place shortly after the events of the main story, with Team MZ finally having restored peace to Lumiose City. However, that peace turns out to be rather short-lived, as mysterious distortions suddenly begin to form around the town.

Amidst this chaos, players will encounter a young donut chef named Ansha and her Pokémon Hoopa. Together, the two can transform these distortions into interdimensional portals, and hop right into them with the player in tow. On the other side, they’ll find a version of Lumiose City nicknamed Hyperspace Lumiose, which houses different and very powerful Pokémon.

Hyperspace Lumiose seems to have a strange effect on Pokémon, allowing them to break their pre-existing Lv. 100 level cap. Rare Pokémon can also be found in the city, along with all-new Mega Pokémon like Mega Chimecho and Mega Baxcalibur. It’s currently unclear if this increased level cap will also grant Pokémon extra moves, or if players can bring Level 100+ Pokémon back to the regular version of Lumiose City.

Pokémon Legends Z-A: Mega Dimension launches on 10 December, 2025.
