Battlefield 6 finally patches drone hammer and lock-on missile bugs before new map launch

No more sky-high snipers.

Electronic Arts is dropping a new patch for Battlefield 6, which looks to fix a few of the game’s biggest and most prominent bugs in recent weeks. This includes the drone-sledgehammer bug that allows players to fly into the sky, and the lock-on missile that destroys vehicles almost instantly.

The patch will drop ahead of a big Season 1 update next week.

Battlefield 6’s latest patch fixes up a few major bugs

Battlefield 6 players have been dealing with a couple of annoyingly prevalent bugs in Season 1. Namely, a drone bug that allows players to hover in the air simply by whacking drones with a sledgehammer, allowing them to get on top of skyscrapers and freely snipe players below.

Another bug involving the Lock-Guided Missile allowed players to shoot down enemy vehicles unaffected by countermeasures like flares. In practice, this would lead to situations where tanks and planes would simply explode mid-use with little-to-no warning. Thankfully, both of these issues are being addressed with a new patch.

EA’s new 11 November patch for Battlefield 6 will fix both of these problems, while also delivering a few fixes for squad revives, End of Round transitions, and match flow in Battlefield: Redsec. Vehicles will also now spawn correctly in Breakthrough and Conquest.

These changes land ahead of a major Season 1 update next week, which will add an all-new playable map called Eastwood. Eastwood will launch with the California Resistance phase of Season 1 on 18 November. This map injects a bit of vibrancy into the game’s existing map rotation, set in a Californian town in the suburbs. It even includes a wide-open golf course and drained pools, as players take the fight in and out of the suburban houses.
