Nintendo launches new Nintendo Store app, lets users track playtimes going back to the 3DS

Curious about your Nintendo 3DS play activity? Now, you can look it up.

Nintendo has launched a brand-new Nintendo Store app for iOS and Android mobile platforms. The app finally allows users to browse the Nintendo eShop and make purchases on the go, so long as they are logged into their current Nintendo account.

Surprisingly, users can also check their play activity on various Nintendo consoles, going all the way back to the Nintendo 3DS.

Nintendo launches Nintendo Store mobile app

Nintendo officially launched a Nintendo Store app worldwide today, on both iOS and Android app stores. The app is free to use, though it might only be available to download in specific regions at the moment. The app is unavailable in Malaysia and the Philippines, for example. This is likely because the Nintendo eShop is only set to begin services in Malaysia later this month, with a launch in the Philippines planned for later.

The Nintendo Store app can be used to browse the Nintendo eShop for both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 games and subscriptions. Players can also view details on both game consoles, view discounts on ongoing sales, and create wishlists on the app. They can find news on Nintendo events and games, or check in at official Nintendo stores for specific rewards.

Interestingly, players can also check their play activity for games on Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch via the app. For stats-obsessed players, this will give them access to the number of hours they played various games on Nintendo consoles. They can also specifically track how much time they spent playing certain games each day.

It doesn't stop with the Nintendo Switch family of consoles, either. Players can even check their playtime on the Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS as well, with data available up to February 2020. However, their Nintendo ID will need to be linked to their Nintendo Account in order for them to see play activity on these older consoles.

You can download the Nintendo Store app on the App Store here, or the Google Play Store here.
