As a way of thanks and also an apology, Embark Studios is giving players 500 Raider Tokens if they played over the weekend.
It’s a strong start for the new multiplayer extraction shooter Arc Raiders, which reportedly sold 1.6 million copies within the first three days of its launch, just a day after reaching a peak player count of 354,836.
According to a report by Steam analytics page Gamalytic, Arc Raiders has sold an estimated 1.6 million copies, generating around US$61.1 million in revenue. While that figure is already impressive, the total number of copies sold across all platforms is expected to be much higher, as the estimates do not include console sales.
The launch weekend, however, was not without problems. As the game hit over 300,000 concurrent players, matchmaking and login issues quickly surfaced. At one point, the servers went down for several hours before developer Embark Studios implemented fixes.
500 Raider Tokens to be given away to players who logged in on launch weekend
As a gesture of appreciation and an apology for the rough start, Embark Studios announced that all players who logged in during Arc Raiders' launch weekend would receive 500 Raider Tokens for free.
The announcement was made on X, where the developers acknowledged that the servers on Sunday “had a wobble,” joking that “Scrappy must’ve pecked a few wires loose.” The post added, “As a token of our thanks, we’re sending 500 Raider Tokens to all Raiders who logged in on Sunday (2 November).”
Raider Tokens serve as the premium in-game currency for Arc Raiders, used mainly to purchase cosmetics. The rate is roughly US$1 to US$100 tokens, meaning the 500-token giveaway is equivalent to about US$5 worth of items. While that’s not enough for one of the premium skins, which cost around 1,400 tokens, players can still pick up smaller accessories and cosmetic trinkets to personalise their characters.
Despite the initial server hiccups, Arc Raiders’ launch shows strong interest from players, and it looks like it won't stop anytime soon.
