You might not have to wait long to try out HoYoverse’s cosiest game yet.
HoYoverse has officially announced a start date for its upcoming life sim game Petit Planet. Entitled “the Cosiness Test,” this closed beta will allow players to try out the Animal Crossing-like cosmic life sim ahead of its full release.
Players can sign up for the closed beta on HoYoverse’s official Petit Planet website.

Game developer HoYoverse’s newly-announced upcoming life simulator game Petit Planet is kicking off a closed beta very soon. The game allows players to embark on an adventure across the stars with unique Neighbours, exploring different planets while building up their home.
Here’s how it works: players will begin their journey on a planet of their own, where they are entrusted with the task of making it a cosy home. They can then explore space and find Neighbours, connecting other “Planettes” to their home. As their bonds with Neighbours deepen, and their own planet flourishes, the planet’s vitality (named Luca) will begin to shape different landscapes and flourish as well.
The game’s life simulator gameplay loop will have players make friends, go fishing, start farms, comb beaches, and cook up tasty recipes. They can also connect with Neighbours, who will settle on their planet. To find new Neighbours, they will embark on Starsea Voyages to explore Islets in their vehicle–an old-fashioned four-wheeler that doubles as a rocketship.
Petit Planet has social and multiplayer gameplay as well. In the game’s closed beta, players will be able to hang out together at a social hub called the Galactic Bazaar, and engage in activities like drinking coffee and going dancing.
To sign up for the beta, players will have to fill out a survey on the official Petit Planet website, though only a limited number of players will be selected for beta access. Signups will remain open until further notice, but the closed beta kicks off on PC and iOS platforms on 7 November, 2025. There is no word on an Android release for the closed beta yet.
