HoYoverse officially reveals brand-new game Petit Planet
Gacha game maker HoYoverse is officially making a life simulation video game. The developer released a trailer for its next game Petit Planet, entitled “Weave Your Dreams Beneath the Stars,” showcasing gameplay for the Animal Crossing-like title.
Petit Planet has players adopt and nurture a planet of their very own, gradually forming an entire galaxy of planets by driving across the cosmos in the stars. Neighbours will be available to connect their planets to the player’s home planet, while the planet’s seemingly sentient life force, Luca, will shape each planet with different environments.
This won’t be your usual action-packed gacha fare. Petit Planet is an Animal Crossing-like life simulation game that has players embark on everyday tasks, like cooking, crafting, and fishing, to take care of their home planet and grow their village. They can also customise their characters, design houses, and terraform their home planet.
Much like Animal Crossing: New Horizons, players can find and befriend Neighbours from distant lands. In this case, players can invite them from distant planets to settle on theirs, and connect their planets together. They can also undertake a Starsea Voyage in their car, and explore unseen planets to unlock hidden recipes, discover creatures, and more.
Petit Plane is now available for what HoYoverse refers to as a “Cosiness Test,” otherwise known as a closed beta. Players can sign up for the beta on the game’s website. Petit Planet does not have a release date yet.
