Call of Duty Black Ops 7 multiplayer reveal trailer shows off 18 maps, open beta details

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will launch with 18 multiplayer maps. 

Publisher Activision and developer Treyarch’s latest trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 dives into its multiplayer mode, which features 18 maps at launch. The trailer goes over Black Ops 7’s multiplayer abilities and gadgets, including the D.A.W.G. robot, wall-jumping, and decoy holograms. 

Activision has also confirmed more details for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7’s upcoming closed and open betas, which kick off in October.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7’s multiplayer maps

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is set to launch with 16 Core 6v6 maps, plus two 20v20 Skirmish maps. That makes 18 maps in total, with six of these being available for players to test out early in the upcoming beta. Three maps are also returning from Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

Here’s a list of all the Core 6v6 maps revealed today:

  • Blackheart (Available in beta)
  • Cortex (Available in beta)
  • Exposure (Available in beta)
  • Imprint (Available in beta)
  • The Forge (Available in beta)
  • Toshin (Available in beta)
  • Colossus
  • Den
  • Flagship
  • Homestead
  • Paranoia
  • Retrieval
  • Scar
  • Express (Black Ops 2 map)
  • Hijacked (Black Ops 2 map)
  • Raid (Black Ops 2 map)

Additionally, these are the two 20v20 Skirmish maps:    

  • Mission: Edge
  • Mission: Tide

As for game modes, a blog post published by Activision has confirmed that Team Deathmatch, Hardpoint, Kill Confirmed, and Domination are returning for the beta. Gunfight, Kill Order, Search and Destroy, Control, and Free-For-All will only be available at launch. 

There’s also a brand-new mode called Overload, which the trailer above highlights. In this mode, players have to bring an Overload Device to control zones, in a twist on the Capture the Flag formula. 

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 beta details

Much more information on the game’s multiplayer gameplay is available on Activision’s blog post, including details on upcoming beta dates. The game’s upcoming beta windows are divided into Early Access and Open Beta periods, running from 2–8 October on all platforms.

The Early Access beta is only available to pre-order customers, running from 2–5 October. From 5 October to 8 October, however, everyone will be able to play the game in Open Beta. Activision plans to show off more details for the game’s multiplayer modes on 1 October, 2025, during a Call of Duty: NEXT stream.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 launches on 14 November, 2025.
