It looks like a Halo 3: ODST collab is coming to Helldivers 2.
Arrowhead Game Studios’ latest trailer for Helldivers 2 houses a surprising collaboration tease. This week, the developer released a trailer to celebrate its multiplayer shooter’s impending arrival on Xbox consoles. However, the trailer also ended with a brief musical snippet from Halo 3: ODST, leaving fans frothing at the mouth for a potential crossover.

Is Helldivers 2 getting a Halo 3: ODST crossover?
In case you missed it, Helldivers 2 is finally arriving on Xbox consoles later this month. By doing so, the game will become one of the few PlayStation Studios-published titles to break PC and PlayStation 5 exclusivity. This week’s Helldivers 2 trailer, however, confirmed that the game is coming to Xbox consoles with a major Xbox franchise crossover too.
Helldivers 2’s Bring the Boom trailer is a sizzle reel of gameplay from the multiplayer title, highlighting its action-packed and highly democratic warfare. The trailer doesn’t reveal much in the way of new in-game content–that is, until the very end of the video, where we see a single Helldivers 2 pod drop.
Shockingly, a musical snippet from Halo 3: ODST then begins to play, teasing a potential crossover with the Bungie and Xbox-made video game. For those unaware, Halo 3: ODST shifted focus from Master Chief and the Spartans to follow the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers (ODSTs) as they carry out missions roughly around the timeline of Halo 2’s campaign.
ODSTs were also referred to as Helljumpers, and play a similar role in the universe of Halo as Helldivers. The crossover feels like a natural fit, though it should be noted that neither Arrowhead nor Xbox Game Studios have officially confirmed its existence. Joseph Staten, a developer who played a major role in creating the original Halo trilogy, did post up a Halo-related GIF in response to the trailer, for what that’s worth:
Helldivers 2 launches on 26 August, 2025 on Xbox platforms.
