Players can now pre-load Battlefield 6’s open beta.
Electronic Arts has officially confirmed details for its upcoming Battlefield 6 open beta test. The beta test will run across three weekends this month, beginning on 7 August this week. Players can pre-load the beta test on all platforms starting today, and they might not even have to clear out space on their hard drives beforehand.
EA has also released a trailer for the open beta:

Preloads for Battlefield 6’s open beta have gone live on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. That means players can now install the entire upcoming beta and begin playing it the second it goes live across all three of this month’s beta weekends.
The closed beta doesn’t take up too much space, either. Here’s how much space the Battlefield 6 open beta will take up on all platforms:
- PlayStation 5: 33.91GB
- Xbox Series X|S: 37.56GB
- Steam: 35.7GB
- EA app: 39.3GB

Before playing, players will also need to connect their platform accounts with their EA account.
Battlefield 6 open beta dates in August
Players will need to take note of the fact that out of Battlefield 6’s three beta weekends this month, only two are technically open beta tests. The first beta weekend, which runs from 7–8 August, is only available to players who signed up for Battlefield Labs or watched multiplayer reveal streams before 31 July.
If you didn’t manage to sign up in time, you’re going to have to settle for the latter two beta weekends instead. Here are all the beta dates for this month:
- August 7–8: Early access beta only available to those who watched partnered Twitch streamers during the multiplayer reveal on 31 July, or signed up to Battlefield Labs before 31 July
- August 9–10: First weekend of the open beta, open to everyone
- August 14–17: Second weekend of the open beta, also open to everyone
There is a plus side to waiting until 9–10 August to hop into the Battlefield 6 beta. Each weekend features unique challenges to bring players back, but the beta’s second weekend will add more game modes and a whole new map for testing.
