The Sims and The Sims 2 are making a comeback this year.
Fans of The Sims rejoice: the first two games in the celebrated life simulation franchise are returning as ‘Legacy Collection’ bundles. Publisher Electronic Arts is rereleasing The Sims Legacy Collection and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection to celebrate the franchise’s 25th anniversary this year. These bundles will include several expansions from the classic Sims games.
Electronic Arts is re-releasing The Sims and The Sims 2
The Sims and The Sims 2 are making a comeback this year. 2000’s The Sims is being re-released as a bundle called The Sims: Legacy Collection, including the base game and a couple of expansions. These expansions are: Livin’ Large, House Party, Hot Date, Vacation, Unleashed, Superstar, and Makin’ Magic expansion packs. The Throwback Fit Kit has also been included for good measure.
The Sims 2: Legacy Collection also includes The Sims 2, plus the following expansion packs:University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Bon Voyage, Seasons, FreeTime, Apartment Life, Holiday Party Pack, Family Fun Stuff, Glamour Life Stuff, Happy Holiday Stuff, Celebration! Stuff, H&M Fashion Stuff, Teen Style Stuff, Kitchen & Bath Interior Design Stuff, and Mansion & Garden Stuff, and The Sims 4: Grunge Revival.
A few DLCs are missing from both of these bundles, but they make a good start for newcomers and returning players nonetheless. Players can also pick up both collections together as part of The Sims: 25th Birthday Bundle.
These collections are now available on PCs running Windows 10 and 11, via EA’s app, Epic Games Store and Steam. A movie based on The Sims franchise is also in the works.
