Apex Legends will have a new map and a gifting feature when Season 15: Eclipse starts

There's plenty to get excited about with Apex Legends.

Apex Legends Season 15: Eclipse will be dropping on November 1, bringing with it a slew of new updates. This includes the latest addition to the legends roster with Catalyst, an "experienced terraformed and defensive conjurer" known as Tressa Smith, who has the ability to manipulate and control terrafluid. But aside from the game's first transgender character, Respawn Entertainment is also introducing a brand new map as well as a gifting feature to go with Season 15.

Known as Broken Moon, it appears that the major leak that occurred earlier this year still rings true as it was first discovered then. This goes for  Newcastle and Vantage, two legends who have introduced a few months apart from one another.

Broken Moon will most likely take place on Cleo, the shattered moon that used to orbit Seer's home planet of Boreas. A closer inspection at Respawn's website shows a teaser for the new map with the caption, "In Boreas' shadow, the newest home of the Apex Games gleams." While Respawn has not yet confirmed if that is actually the case, their recent Twitter posts would suggest otherwise.

While there are already plenty of leaks of the new map all over the internet, it's worth taking note that nothing is set in stone until we hear from Respawn. Even the leaks showcased an unfinished map with none of the POIs having proper textures or shading. But seeing as the latest map will be based on the moon, we can expect to see some form of transportation around the map.

Speaking of which, with the official unveiling of Broken Moon on November 1, that would mean there are five official battle royale maps in Apex Legends. With King's Canyon recently receiving an update while Storm Point is still enjoying its time in the sun, there will be question marks for the likes of Worlds Edge and Olympus. As Apex Legends operates a three-map rotation system with every new season, usually one map sits out.

With the addition of Broken Moon, does that mean the map rotation increases to four or will two maps be taking a backseat? Given how Storm Point has been around since Season 11, it might be time to give it a break.

Aside from the new map, Respawn is also bringing a much-needed feature to the game, gifting. This allows you to either send and receive a locked legend or even a cosmetic from the item shop to a friend. Of course, there are a few things to take note of before you're allowed to officially start gifting on November 1.

You must first have login verification turned on, your account must be at least level 10, and you have to be in-game friends with those you would like to gift to. You also have to be in-game friends for at least two weeks and your account will also have to be in good-standing. Gifts are also final and non-refundable so be sure you get the right account on the right platform.
